Lan Tianshi Attends 2025 China Industrial Transfer Development Matching Event (Sichuan), GCL Amplifies Green Development in Sichuan
On May 9, the 2025 China Industrial Transfer Development Matching Event (Sichuan) officially opened in Chengdu. Leaders including Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Committee and Director of the Provincial People’s Congress, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee and Governor, and Shan Zhongde, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
On behalf of Chairman Zhu Gongshan, Lan Tianshi, Executive Director of GCL Group and Co-CEO of GCL Technology, spoke at the opening as a representative of the chain-leading enterprises, sharing GCL’s achievements in Sichuan and envisioning the region’s industrial development prospects.
Lan highlighted that the event’s project volume has grown further this year, demonstrating the effectiveness of Sichuan’s chain-oriented investment promotion and its success in attracting major and strong enterprises. As a native of Chengdu, he expressed pride in seeing “Chuan” branded technologies and advanced industrial projects flourish in the region.
He emphasized Sichuan’s strategic advantages in policy, resources, and industrial chains, which have attracted substantial capital and industry westward. This supports optimizing productivity layouts, securing stable supply chains, and building a new development pattern. GCL’s development in Sichuan mirrors this industrial transfer, and Lan expressed gratitude to local leaders for their support.
Over recent years, under initiatives such as “Sichuan Tour of Renowned Chinese and Foreign Enterprises”, GCL has expanded into Sichuan, establishing headquarters and production bases in Chengdu, Leshan, and Meishan, creating a chain-linked collaborative development structure.
Lan shared two flagship cases: FBR polysilicon and one-step physical method cathode materials, highlighting that global energy storage looks to China, and China’s energy storage looks to Sichuan. The region’s new energy development relies on new technologies, materials, and innovation-driven chains. Ongoing projects include Chengdu Lihé Carbon-based Project, Leshan Polysilicon Project, and Meishan Phase II Cathode Material Project, which together will support the upgraded market-oriented renewable energy system and form an integrated green industrial chain spanning green silicon – green electricity – green hydrogen – green chemicals, driving at least four industrial chains and more than ten key links, fostering mutual growth and chain synergies.
Lan noted that GCL’s success in Sichuan benefits from the favorable business environment and strong support from government at all levels, including guidance from Secretary Wang Xiaohui during site visits to Leshan’s polysilicon base, full-time government assistance, and dedicated support teams enabling high-quality innovation and development. In 2025, GCL incorporated Sichuan as a key region in its “15th Five-Year Plan” strategic layout.
Looking forward, GCL plans to increase investment in original technology R&D, strengthen its chain-leading role, and build new ecosystem linkages, alongside planning multiple new energy projects to establish green energy transformation industrial bases, helping Sichuan become a new high-quality development engine for western China’s renewable energy sector.
In the afternoon, Lan also participated in a special matching event for the new energy industry and jointly launched the Yangtze River Economic Belt New Energy Industry Collaborative Development Initiative with several other enterprises, contributing to coordinated industry growth and sustainable green development in Sichuan and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
