At the beginning of the year, the ancient city of Xuzhou was vibrant with energy.

On February 6, Song Lewei, Party Secretary of Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, led a team to visit Jiangsu GCL Silicon Materials Technology Development Co., Ltd. (“GCL Silicon Materials”), a subsidiary of GCL Technology, to conduct an on-site inspection of employees working overtime and production operations during the holiday period. On behalf of the municipal Party committee and government, he extended warm greetings to frontline GCL employees who remained on duty during the festive season.

Ahead of the Year of the Snake, GCL Technology announced that its Q4 2024 results had once again broken industry cost records, prompting continuous praise from Song Lewei.

He highly commended the 5GW Polysilicon Technology Application Demonstration Project for its deep exploration and efficient operations:
"This project is unprecedented and unmatched. It fully leverages polysilicon’s advantages in technology, R&D, cost, quality, and carbon footprint, setting a clear demonstration and leadership role within the industry."

Accompanied by General Manager Hu Jianxi, Song and his team toured the demonstration project workshop. AGV automated transport robots moved in orderly fashion to melodic music, while employees at the workstations were fully focused and energetic. The production site was bustling yet well-organized, showcasing the norm for GCL staff: “Start the year by starting work.”

At the company’s central control center, Song carefully observed the entire process of applying polysilicon to direct-pull monocrystalline silicon on the large display screens. He asked a series of questions:

• “What is the breakage rate? How does it affect yield?”

• “Compared with rod silicon, what are the advantages of polysilicon?”

• “How do you utilize low-cost polysilicon?”

Hu Jianxi provided detailed answers to each question.

Song encouraged the company to continue leveraging polysilicon’s advantages in cost reduction, energy saving, quality improvement, and low carbon emissions, to navigate market cycles successfully, maintain strong development momentum, seize opportunities with urgency, drive innovation, and pursue greater growth.
