Intersolar Europe 2023: Top Zero-Carbon Innovators Converge in Munich, FBR Granular Silicon Adds Sparkle to the Show
From June 14 to
June 16, Intersolar Europe 2023, a solar and PV technology exhibition, was held
in Munich, Germany. GCL Tech's core innovation, the FBR granular silicon, made
a spectacular European debut, joining global partners at the industry event.
As the largest and
most influential exhibition in the solar industry, Intersolar 2023 encompassed
almost all leading PV companies worldwide. Nearly 300 Chinese PV companies,
including GCL, were present to explore innovation possibilities and discuss
industry development trends.
GCL Tech is a
global leader in the production of PV polysilicon and silicon wafers, boasting
the largest granular silicon production capacity worldwide. Since 2019, the
company has officially initiated its modular construction of 20,000-ton FBR
granular silicon. The current production capacity is estimated to reach 700,000
tons, with operations advancing concurrently in Xuzhou, Leshan, Baotou, Hohhot,
and Wuhai. Moreover, the market share has steadily increased, surpassing 10% in
2022.
Compared with the
rod silicon produced using the Siemens method, every 10,000 tons of FBR
granular silicon produced can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 389,000 tons.
From the perspective of the entire industry chain, the production of 1 GW
modules using granular silicon can reduce carbon by 95,200 tons, and 100,000
tons of FBR granular silicon used during the entire life cycle can reduce
carbon emissions by 1.117 billion tons.
FBR granular
silicon has obtained carbon footprint certificates in both China and France in
the field of PV raw materials, setting a new world record for the lowest carbon
footprint of silicon materials. With the advent of the n-type era and the
breakthrough of CCz technology, GCL Tech is poised to bring a revolutionary
upgrade to the PV industry.
Worth mentioning
is that at this exhibition, GCL System Integration debuted a range of flagship
products such as n-type high-efficiency PV modules and energy storage
solutions. For the first time in Europe, the n-type TOPCon bifacial monocrystalline
module product was launched, along with the BIPV TOPCon module, Evolution
series, and Honor series energy storage systems.
