Recently, the financial supervision departments and financial institutions of Jiangsu Province had a discussion with Zhongneng Silicon Industry under GCL-POLY Energy, a Hong Kong stock company, and made a special trip to visit the granular silicon factory of Zhongneng Silicon Industry. On the same day, it was learned that Leshan GCL granular silicon project was officially started.
According to the disclosed production plans of GCL-POLY in Xuzhou Base, Leshan Base and Inner Mongolia Project, the reporter of Securities Daily speculated that by the end of the Q 3, 2021, GCL-POLY Energy will have a production capacity of 30,000 tons of granular silicon; It is expected to reach 120,000 tons by the end of the Q 2, 2022; By the end of the Q 3, 2023, it is expected to reach 180,000 tons of production capacity.
The rapid increase of GCL-POLY's granular silicon production capacity depends on the recognition of downstream and capital markets.
On March 8th, this year, GCL-Poly Energy announced that after the company's fluidizedbed reactor (FBR) granular silicon 10,000 tons project was put into production, after the production operation and the use of downstream customers, new breakthroughs were made in various indicators of granular silicon. Life cycle, carbon tail, crystallization rate, yield per unit area and conversion efficiency are all ahead of the industry level.
In addition to the improvement of quality, granular silicon is favored by all walks of life for taking advantage of "carbon peaking and carbon neutralization".
In May 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Standard Conditions for Photovoltaic Manufacturing Industry (2020 Edition) (draft for comments), which stipulated that the comprehensive power consumption of new/expanded polysilicon should not exceed 70 kWh/kg.
Jiang Limin, deputy dean of GCL-Poly Energy Research Institute and vice president of Jiangsu Zhongneng Silicon Industry, told the "Securities Daily" reporter, "According to our actual measurement, the power consumption of FBR granular silicon is only 18 kWh/kg, far below the industry standard.”
An industry insider who did not want to be named told the "Securities Daily" reporter, "Compared with the previous Siemens rod-like silicon process, FBR granular silicon can reduce the carbon emission by 74%.
Perhaps for this reason, according to the reporter, during the above-mentioned discussion, the financial supervision departments and financial institutions of Jiangsu Province indicated that they would continue to increase financial support for the transformation and upgrading of Zhongneng Silicon Industry.
According to GCL-Poly Energy, at present, the company's debt ratio has dropped sharply, the cash flow of enterprises has been stabilized, the profitability has rebounded sharply, and the local government tax revenue and employee income have been increasing.
